A fantasy action RPG with anime visuals and fast-paced combat
The game takes place in a world where ancient magic meets mechanical invention. Players take on the role of a gifted Arcanist, a warrior-scholar who can wield both spellcasting and steampunk weaponry. Gameplay focuses on fast, stylish action and smooth movement systems, including air dodges, combos, and special abilities unique to each class.

There are several playable characters, each with distinct weapons and fighting styles, such as dual blades, scythes or magical spell books. Visual effects are crisp and vibrant, with cutscenes, character design and environments clearly inspired by high budget anime productions. Crystal of Atlan uses Unreal Engine 4 and features fully voiced dialogue in multiple languages.
Free-to-play, no subscription, available now on Epic
The game is monetised through a cosmetics and gacha-style system, but the core story content and main gameplay loop are fully accessible without payment. The title offers both solo and multiplayer content, including co-op dungeons, PvP arenas and time-limited seasonal events.
While many players may compare it to Genshin Impact or Tower of Fantasy, Crystal of Atlan leans more heavily into action and speed rather than exploration and farming. It also features a more linear, chapter-based narrative structure, making it easier to follow for casual players.
Crystal of Atlan is available now for free on PC via the Epic Games Store, and also on PlayStation 5 in PlayStation Store. There’s no sign-up requirement beyond your Epic or PlayStation account. If you’re into action RPGs with anime aesthetics and responsive combat, it’s a solid new option in the free-to-play space.
