A broccoli with a bazooka? This free hack’n’slash on Steam is pure veggie chaos

Play the wild indie hack-and-slash Vegetables of Mass Destruction for free. Guns, veggies, and total mayhem. Now available at no cost on Steam.

A new indie title has just dropped on Steam and it’s free to keep. Vegetables of Mass Destruction is a chaotic twin-stick hack-and-slash where heavily armed broccoli, tomatoes and other veggie heroes fight their way through waves of enemies. The game launched on June 18 and is already available at no cost.

Created by a solo developer, Vegetables of Mass Destruction blends fast-paced top-down shooting with roguelite mechanics. You’ll shoot, slash and blast through colorful levels filled with enemies, power-ups and weapons ranging from swords to toasters. Yes, really.

A hilarious twist on the hack-and-slash genre

The game is built around quick, arcade style action. Levels are procedurally generated, combat is fast and satisfying, and each run offers new upgrades. There’s also a local co-op mode so you can team up with a friend on the same screen. While the visuals are kept simple, the humor and gameplay variety more than make up for it.

Importantly, this is not a time-limited giveaway, the game is permanently free. It contains no microtransactions or ads. What you see is what you get: a full indie title designed for pure fun.
